My despatch 14th July No.328 Chinese Extradition Ordinance. I shall be glad if this can be treated as a matter of

extreme urgency. In addition to case mentioned in paragraph 6 I have received two requests for extradition of criminals one from Canton and one from Amoy. At present deportation is only course open and this leaves destination to the fugitive's choice. I fear Colony will become the target of justifiable obloquy if it fails to help Chinese Authorities in these cases. In print of Bill which accompanied my despatch 14th July word "Government" should be inserted at the end of line 7 of section 2 (a) between words "the" and

"actually".
